Congratulations go to the Saturday 3rd, 4th and 5th XI teams on winning their leagues with a week of the season still to go. The 3rd XI comprehensively beat Cutnall Green by 10 wickets at Harborne whilst the 4th XI won away, also to Cutnall Green.
The 1st XI continued their progression in the ECB Cockspur Twenty20 Cup with a nailbiting win on net run rate during the West Midlands regional final. They comprehensively beat Northampton Saints but then lost to Leek and had to rely on the Saints beating Leek in the final match.

Friday 12 September 2008 at Harborne Golf Club
Harborne CC is going for the hat-trick! After two excellent days that raised over £3000 for the cricket club, I write with details of the third Harborne CC Golf Day. Again, the money generated from the event will be used to maintain the marvellous ground, which so many enjoy and which plays such an important role in Harborne’s business and recreational community. Your support in making the event bigger and better than last year will be highly valued.
The day will again take place at the delightful surroundings of Harborne Golf Club on Friday 12 September 2008. Teams of four will arrive at noon for a delicious buffet lunch followed by a four-ball, stableford competition. Additional challenges, such as ‘The Longest Drive’ and ‘Nearest the Pin’, will be running throughout the day with great prizes for the successful players. All golfers will receive a goody-bag packed with an array of gifts and a prize-giving ceremony will take place to round off the occasion. Entry for a team of four is priced at just £200 + VAT and spaces are limited.

This year any funds raised will be used even more pertinently. Our groundsman, Trevor Townsend, is widely regarded as the best in the business. He works tirelessly for the good of the Club and 2008 marks his 60th birthday. Some of the proceeds that are raised during the day will be used to help Trevor celebrate the big day and also as a token of our appreciation for his ongoing efforts on making our ground one of the best in the Midlands.
We are also looking for sponsors for the event, which is a perfect opportunity to publicise your company to some key members of the Birmingham business community. The two sponsorship packages are detailed below.
Main Sponsor - £1000 + VAT
• Golf Day Naming Rights; branding at 1st hole and in clubhouse; Two teams of 4; advert in event guide; 4 social memberships of HCC; main trophies presented by company rep; HCC website link.
